What is the reason I am doing this?

What is the reason I write self care blogs in the first place?

In this blog I will be outlining the reasons behind blogging and what exactly drew me to the topic of self care. The importance of all of this is to allow you guys to get to know me a bit more. May be you'll find that me and you can relate and potentially I could inspire you.....how cool huh? I will define self care, provide examples of what it is and provide a better insight into why I do all of this.

What is self care?

Self care can be defined as a practice of bettering your personal health including both mental and physical. It is actions taken to protect well being and keep a clear, content state of mind.

Why is self care important?

The importance in self care is extraordinary. Self care allows you to do the following:
    • Recognise your needs
    • Manage Stress
    • Foster better relationships with the people around you
    • Adopt a routine
    • Set Boundaries
    • Improve your mental and physical health
    • Gain confidence
    • Do more of what you anticipated
And much, much more!!

Self care is an important practice that allows you to ensure you are at your best both physically and mentally. This allows for you to give your best self to others also, ultimately driving your network to expand which allows for your opportunities to grow and leads to you fulfilling your life.

Self care is all about taking responsibility for your well being and recognising that it is a crucial aspect towards a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

Going over the importance of self care and what it is, I can now go into depth as to why I began writing blogs in the first place based on self care.

Why I even began self care blogging in the first place

To begin with, I started blogging because of a reconnection I had in late 2022.

I began reading again!!

This may not seem that much of a big deal but back when I was 7-12 years old I was a massive book worm. I loved reading and as I turned older, entered secondary school, my love faded, interests changed and I was obsessed with my phone... as we all are.

I knew I needed to occupy my time better and to feel more productive so one way I did this was through reading. I picked up a book, one I purchased at a local charity shop. The book I read is called SwitchCraft by Elaine Fox and just started from there.

As I read more and discovered more self development books, my interest in the topic expanded. I would research more and as someone who loves writing I knew I could share my interest and knowledge with like minded people.

I watched a few Youtube clips on how to get started. I taught myself about SEO and gained an interest into marketing. Here I took online lessons on marketing to better my understanding as well as apply it to this blog. My pursuit to gain a career into the marketing field also grew from here and still continues to grow.

From the YouTube clips, I changed my web layout, published my first ever blog  and taught myself even more on self development.

I was and still am eager to teach like minded people on reaching their full potential. By doing so they need to learn about self care and how to apply it to their lifestyle.

This is why I come up with the blogs I do and create insightful content to educate those interested in self care.

I have a passion for self development and personal growth. My passion has allowed me to take up creative writing projects like this so I can inspire, educate and insight others.  I am a firm believer of success, and believing in others.

So what did we learn?

We learnt about self care, what is self care, what importance does it serve and why I create the blogs I do.
